Stem Cell Therapy

What Is Stem Cell Therapy?

Stem Cell therapy is the latest medical advancement employed by trained practitioners who aim to help people feel better, improve their health without drugs, and benefit from an alternative treatment to unwanted and potentially risky surgery. Regen-Age is unique in that we offer multiple forms of Stem Cell Therapy, along with advanced regenerative options that potentially enhance Stem Cell effectiveness and overall patient improvement. With the use of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine our doctors and nurses are now providing this cutting edge therapy to those who would benefit from its healing effects.

The four R’s of regenerative medicine are Restore, Replace, Repair and Regenerate. Regenerative medicine is making revolutionary progress in treating patients with an array of degenerative conditions and/or injuries that are historically resistant to traditional treatment options. Below are many of the conditions and benefits of Stem Cell Therapy.

Pain Conditions:

  • Knee Pain
  • Low Back Pain
  • Degenerative Discs
  • Sciatica
  • Neck Pain
  • Joint Pain
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Hip Pain
  • Shoulder Pain
  • Elbow Pain
  • Hand (Finger) Pain
  • Ankle (Toes) Pain
  • Sacroiliac (SI) Pain
  • Bursitis, Tendinitis

Advanced Conditions:

  • Erectile Dysfunction
  • Neuropathy Pain Relief
  • Headaches
  • Spinal Stenosis
  • Rotator Cuff & Labral Tears
  • Cosmetic Enhancement & Rejuvenation
  • Tendon, Ligament, Muscle Strains
  • Degenerated Joints
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Plantar Fasciitis

Adipose Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells (This service is presently suspended. The FDA has taken a position against it, which we completely disagree with, but we aim to be fully compliant.)

Adipose tissue, or fat, is the body’s richest source of Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs), which are adult stem cells with the capacity for self-replication and the ability to change into other tissues, such as cartilage, ligaments, tendons, muscles and bone. MSCs are emerging as an extremely promising therapy for tissue regeneration, organ repair, immune system enhancement and successful aging. Our doctors and nurses use Adipose Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells for an array of therapeutic functions. Adipose Derived MSCs can be easily harvested by liposuction and concentrated and reintroduced into areas in need of regeneration and rejuvenation.

Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cells

Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) can be found in many tissues, including bone marrow, umbilical cord, placental (amniotic) and adipose (fat) tissue. One of the important characteristics of MSCs is their ability to self-renew and differentiate into multiple cell types. This property of MSCs plays a crucial role in supporting the regeneration process of new tissue whenever there is internal damage, injury, disease, inflammation or trauma. Whenever there is an injury or damage, the body sends signals which activate cells called cytokines, which recruit MSCs to the site for injury or damage. Our doctors will help you decide if bone marrow harvest and treatment is right for you.

MSCs are isolated from bone marrow and in many specialists’ eyes, bone marrow harvest is the gold standard for certain regenerative therapy.  MSCs can be extracted from bone marrow by aspiration, typically from the superior iliac crest or the sternum. This process may be painful, though much research has been done to reduce any pain incurred by patients during extraction.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

PRP is blood plasma that has been collected from the patient’s body and then processed to isolate the most concentrated portion which contains platelets and growth factors. PRP helps optimize the conditions for healing and play a role in the activation and attraction of Stem Cells to the injured or deficient area. PRP Therapy has been widely used since the 1990’s to aid in patient recovery after injury or surgery. This emerging treatment method continues to expand its reach in other areas of medicine, notably to enhance stem cell therapy, in orthopedics, rehabilitative and restorative medicine. PRP is commonly used as a conservative treatment to enhance rehabilitative efforts, manage pain, accelerate healing and regeneration of healthy tissue as an alternative to surgery.

CONDITIONS TREATED WITH PRP

Injuries involving ligaments, tendons, joints and other soft tissue damage are all candidates for PRP Therapy. Conditions commonly treated by PRP Therapy include:

  • Combined with Stem Cells for IV Infusion  (This service is presently suspended. The FDA has taken a position against it, which we completely disagree with, but we aim to be fully compliant.)
  • Hair Loss
  • Arthritis
  • Auto Immune Disorders (This service is presently suspended. The FDA has taken a position against it, which we completely disagree with, but we aim to be fully compliant.)
  • Fractures
  • Degenerative Diseases
  • Spinal Conditions
  • Rotator Cuff Tears
  • Back and Neck Injuries
  • Joint Injuries
